General Phan Van Giang received the Chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian Armed Forces

Vietnam and Belarus continue to coordinate and promote delegation exchanges; effectively implement signed cooperation documents; and maintain exchanges and cooperation between the two countries' military branches and services.

On October 20, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense , received Major General Pavel Muraveiko, Chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of National Defense of Belarus on the occasion of an official visit to Vietnam.

Pleased to witness the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between Vietnam and Belarus developing well in many fields, in which defense relations play an important role, General Phan Van Giang emphasized that in recent times, Vietnam-Belarus defense cooperation has been effectively implemented, in line with the overall traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries and the signed international treaties and agreements, achieving many positive results.

General Phan Van Giang affirmed that the people and the Vietnam People's Army always appreciate the valuable support and assistance that the people and the Belarusian Army have given Vietnam in the struggle for national independence and reunification.

To express gratitude for that assistance, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense built the Vietnam-Soviet Union Solidarity and Friendship Monument (including Belarusian military experts) on the grounds of the Vietnam Military History Museum.

On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang thanked the Belarusian Ministry of Defense for supporting and sending a high-ranking delegation to attend the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on September 2.

The Vietnamese Minister of National Defense hopes that in the coming time, in the spirit of the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus, the two sides will continue to coordinate and promote the effective implementation of agreed contents, focusing on the following areas: Exchange of delegations; effective implementation of signed cooperation documents; maintaining forms of exchange and cooperation between the armies and military branches of the two countries...

Thanking the Minister for his warm and thoughtful welcome to the delegation, Major General Pavel Muraveiko said that the defense cooperation between the two countries still has a lot of room for development, and expressed his hope that Minister Phan Van Giang would continue to pay attention and support so that the defense cooperation between the two countries can further develop.

Regarding the direction of cooperation in the coming time, Major General Pavel Muraveiko agreed with the opinion of General Phan Van Giang; affirmed that Belarus will promote training cooperation based on the needs of both sides; at the same time, is ready to promote cooperation in other potential fields such as military medicine, military science ..../.
