In May 2025, the industrial production situation of Dak Lak province continued to improve with the industrial production index (IIP) estimated to increase by 20.06% over the same period last year. Of which, the mining industry increased sharply by 43.92%, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 26.32%, and the electricity, gas, and hot water production and distribution industry increased by 11.79%. In the first 5 months of the year, the province's IIP increased by 15.16%. This is a positive signal reflecting the effectiveness of policies to support production, remove difficulties for businesses, and promote investment attraction in industry.
Key industrial products maintained stable output and had significant growth: cassava starch output reached about 81,000 tons (↑3.7%), sugar reached 64,000 tons (↑3.5%), beer produced at Saigon - Dak Lak Brewery reached 35.47 million liters (↑9.2%). Coffee powder output reached 17,870 tons (↑8.2%) and especially steel output reached 142,500 tons, a sharp increase of 45.4% over the same period.
In the energy sector, the cumulative electricity production reached 2,455.6 million kWh (↑16%), while the commercial electricity output reached 1,125 million kWh (↑0.6%). This is an important factor contributing to ensuring a stable energy supply for production and people's lives.
In addition to production activities, the development of industrial cluster infrastructure has also achieved many encouraging results. As of May 2025, the province has 08 operating industrial clusters, the industrial land occupancy rate is about 92%, with 179 investment projects, total registered capital of about 7,000 billion VND, creating jobs for 6,500 workers. Industrial clusters such as Tan An 1, Tan An 2, Ea Dar are in the process of completing centralized wastewater treatment systems for trial operation.
With the achieved results, it can be affirmed that Dak Lak’s industrial production in May continues to be a bright spot in the province’s overall economic picture. This will be a solid premise for the entire industry and trade sector to strive to achieve the growth target of over 8% in 2025.
