Ensuring a clean and beautiful environment contributes to the Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023.

The Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023 is a major tourism event organized with the aim of introducing and promoting the value and beauty of Ninh Binh's natural landscapes to domestic and international tourists. Along with ensuring security and order, environmental sanitation and landscape preservation are being actively implemented by Ninh Hai commune and related units to create a positive impression on visitors.

Early in the morning of May 25th, just before the opening ceremony of Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023, more than 100 female members from 5 women's associations and residents of Van Lam and Dam Khe villages simultaneously launched a comprehensive environmental cleanup campaign.

Ms. Bui Thi Kiem, a member of the Women's Association of Ninh Hai commune, said: "We are very proud to have been born and raised in a land with the Tam Coc - Bich Dong tourist area and many famous historical relics. With that pride, we always strive to preserve and protect the environment so that tourism can develop in a sustainable direction."

To prepare for Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023, we women organized cleaning activities, including sweeping, collecting waste, removing obstacles, cleaning roads and sidewalks, and gathering all waste in designated areas. This activity took place on main roads from Dong Gung bus station to Dinh Cac boat dock and on self-managed roads around the Tam Coc - Bich Dong tourist area and residential areas.

Mr. Dinh Anh Toi, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Hai Commune People's Committee, said: This is the second peak period in which the commune has directed mass organizations to launch a campaign to clean up the environment in preparation for the upcoming Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023. This activity will continue to be maintained throughout the duration of the Tourism Week.

In addition to general environmental sanitation, Ninh Hai commune also assigned the Farmers' Association to clear weeds and reeds in the rice fields along both sides of the Ngo Dong River, creating a scenic landscape for tourists; at the same time, it assigned the police and military forces to coordinate in ensuring security and order in the commune.

In addition, to ensure a pleasant landscape during Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023, Ninh Hai commune has carried out road and sidewalk beautification, cleaned up old and damaged advertising signs, trimmed trees along the main road, and decorated flower pots in key areas. At the same time, they have encouraged residents to beautify their houses, village roads, and alleys, and to consciously maintain the general landscape to better serve the upcoming Tourism Week.

Along with implementing a campaign to improve environmental sanitation, Ninh Hai continues to educate people to raise their awareness of maintaining environmental hygiene and practicing a civilized and cultured lifestyle in the tourist area. Regular inspections and corrective measures are taken to address violations in tourism activities, damage to historical and cultural relics, especially in accommodation businesses and activities that degrade the environment and natural landscape within the heritage area.

The locality continues to maintain and expand good movements, models, and new approaches in environmental protection. Regarding waste collection and treatment, Ninh Hai commune has five villages, and each village has established a team to collect and transport waste to designated locations. Waste is sorted at the source and collected daily for processing.

Ninh Hai has many tourist attractions that draw large numbers of visitors, so the local authorities have installed properly sized trash bins suitable for waste storage and sorting, making it convenient for residents and tourists to collect and dispose of waste; and installed signs to raise awareness about the prohibition of littering.

Households and businesses involved in tourism and services have committed to collecting waste and cleaning the surrounding environment. Movements such as "Green Saturday" and "10 Minutes from Home to the Street" continue to be maintained, creating a ripple effect and receiving the attention, support, and approval of the people, contributing to the formation of habits in preserving and protecting the environmental landscape.

Similar to Ninh Hai commune, in preparation for Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023, the Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Area Management Board has implemented many measures to enhance environmental sanitation and create an increasingly clean and beautiful environment. The unit coordinated the clearing of waterways and organized campaigns to remove garbage and algae from the Ngo Dong River.

Mr. Hoang Thanh Phong, Director of Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Area, said: "In addition to regularly deploying personnel to monitor and promptly detect and prevent littering, we also focus on visual communication about preserving the landscape and environment through billboards, posters, banners, slogans... especially through communicators who are boat drivers, to contribute to raising the awareness and responsibility of people and tourists in protecting the environment and maintaining a green, clean, beautiful, and civilized tourist area."

With the proactive and positive efforts of all levels, sectors, units, and people in ensuring environmental protection, Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023 promises to be a great success, leaving a deep impression on every visitor who comes to explore and experience Ninh Binh's tourist areas and attractions.
