Defeating U22 Indonesia, U22 Philippines entered the semi-finals of SEA Games 33

(Dan Tri) - Banatao's only goal helped U22 Philippines defeat U22 Indonesia 1-0 in Group C of the 33rd SEA Games men's football in Thailand on the evening of December 8 and enter the semi-finals.

Before the match, U22 Indonesia was rated higher thanks to its naturalized players and they quickly pressed the field. However, U22 Philippines defended scientifically and tightly, causing the team from the archipelago to be stuck.

In addition to a solid defense, U22 Philippines showed great sharpness in counter-attacks and in the throw-in at the end of the first half, Banatao flew to head the ball to open the score. In the second half, U22 Indonesia increased their attacks, continuously pressing the field, but the strikers, especially striker Struick, finished unluckily.

U22 Indonesia will not be able to continue as the best second-placed team and will be eliminated if U22 Vietnam draws U22 Malaysia in the final round of Group B. However, U22 Indonesia still has to put all their efforts into the final match against U22 Myanmar on December 12 and wait for a favorable result from the match between U22 Vietnam and U22 Malaysia on December 11.
