Proposal to increase capital for a series of transportation projects in Ho Chi Minh City

From July 15 to 17, the 10th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council (term 2021-2026) held the 17th session to report on the socio -economic situation in the first 6 months of the year and key tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.

At the meeting, the City People's Committee proposed adjusting investment policies for many traffic projects in districts.

Specifically, the proposal to approve the adjustment of the investment policy for the project to upgrade and expand Mac Van Street (District 8) with a total investment of over 95 billion VND, an increase of nearly 14 billion VND. In 2025, the site will be handed over and construction will be organized. The project will be completed and put into use.

Similarly, the project to expand D3 road (Ward 10, Go Vap District, from Phan Van Tri to Quang Trung Street) with the scale of adjusting the width from 20m to 30m, the total investment adjusted from 110 billion VND to over 656 billion VND.

The project to expand and upgrade Provincial Road 8 (section from N31A canal bridge to Tan Quy intersection, Cu Chi district) is also proposed to be adjusted from 8km long and 18m wide to 7.7km long and 20m wide. The total investment is adjusted from 368 billion VND to 566 billion VND, an increase of more than 198 billion VND compared to the original.

Do Xuan Hop Street (Thu Duc City) total investment is proposed to be adjusted from 528 billion VND to more than 868 billion VND (an increase of more than 340 billion VND). Keep the width at 30m and increase the length by 3m compared to before. Completion time is the end of 2025.

The 1.8km Do Xuan Hop Street expansion project (from Nam Ly Bridge to Nguyen Duy Trinh Street) was approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council in April 2016. Although the construction of two construction packages began in September 2018, it has been unfinished until today.
