Mr. Nguyen Van Tiep, Head of the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Province Police, said: Currently, the forces are trying to clear the landslide on Prenn Pass, which occurred at noon on December 4. Meanwhile, the landslide at km 226 on Mimosa Pass this morning has been opened to two-way traffic (from 3:30 p.m.).

According to the announcement of Lam Dong Department of Construction, due to the impact of heavy rain from December 2-4, 2025, on the Prenn Pass road section Km224+600 - Km224+700 (in Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat), a landslide occurred on the slope of the positive slope, burying rocks and soil on the road surface, causing traffic congestion. At the same time, cracks appeared on the slope of the positive slope, destabilizing the slope, leading to a number of pine trees on the top of the slope at risk of falling, posing a potential danger to vehicles traveling on the route. The Department of Construction is coordinating with local authorities and related units to deploy a plan to clear landslide rocks and soil and organize the felling of trees at risk of falling, affecting the safety of vehicles traveling on the route.

The Department of Construction announces the organization of traffic flow into the center of Da Lat in 3 directions: All types of vehicles are allowed to circulate in two directions towards Mimosa Pass (starting normal traffic from 15:30 on December 4, 2025). The second direction is the road to Tuyen Lam Lake (Sacom Tuyen Lam Pass) including all types of vehicles (except trucks) from Lien Khuong Expressway turning left onto Sacom Tuyen Lam Street to the center of the old Da Lat city and vice versa. The third direction through Ta Nung Pass (DT.725) allows all types of vehicles to circulate in two directions towards Ta Nung Pass. The traffic flow time starts from 13:00 on December 4, 2025 until a new announcement from the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province.

According to a quick report from the Department of Construction, due to the heavy rain on the night of December 3, landslides occurred on many important roads in the province. Specifically, National Highway 20 through Mimosa Pass had a landslide on the positive slope, trees fell, soil and rocks covered the entire road surface at Km226+700, making it impossible for vehicles to pass. At D'ran Pass, at 2 locations, the landslides on the surface have now been cleared and have not caused traffic congestion. On National Highway 27, there were 4 landslides on the positive slope and 1 landslide on the negative slope; 1 bridge was eroded and 2 locations where the hydroelectric plant was releasing flood water, but did not cause traffic congestion; only at Km161 (section through Thanh Binh Bridge), water flooded the road surface and is currently impassable.

On Highway 27C, there were 5 landslides on the positive slope, on Highway 28, there were some locations where rocks and soil filled the entire road surface, causing traffic jams. Sacom Pass had 3 landslides on the positive slope, 1 pine tree was at risk of falling down again, but did not cause traffic jams; the expressways including Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet section at Km215 had sand spilled onto the road surface, 300m long. Currently, the expressway maintenance unit is cleaning up and has banned traffic signs from Ma Lam intersection to Phan Thiet. The Phan Thiet - Dau Giay section at Km25+300 is currently flooded about 50cm deep, causing traffic jams; Provincial Road 720 section through Suoi Kiet commune from Km9+600 - Km10+00, Km16+700 - Km17 was deeply flooded from the night of December 3, 2025 to the morning of December 4, 2025, causing traffic jams...

Immediately after the incident, the Department of Construction directed the Lam Dong Road Maintenance Management Board and related units to organize the installation of landslide warning signs, organize the installation of landslide warning signs, organize clearance and implement traffic diversion measures, limit the load on some unsafe sections; urgently mobilize construction units and coordinate with the People's Committees of wards and communes to set up barriers, install warning signs at landslide locations, concentrate machinery to clear soil, rocks, and fallen trees on the road surface to ensure traffic, guide traffic regulation, arrange personnel to guard to ensure traffic, monitor the next developments and will complete clearance and traffic will return on December 4, 2025.

According to the plan, on December 5, a series of events will take place in Lam Dong province during the first International Tea Festival, including the Opening Ceremony at Lam Vien Square, Xuan Huong Ward, Da Lat. Therefore, the province's functional agencies are focusing on measures to ensure safe and smooth traffic, without affecting the activities of the international event, with the participation of many international delegations and Government leaders and central ministries and branches.
