The highest standard score for entering grade 10 in Hanoi is 44.5 points.

This year, Hanoi has more than 129,000 candidates considered for recognition of secondary school graduation, of which more than 115,000 students will take the 10th grade entrance exam across the city. According to the assigned quota, schools in the area will enroll 69,805 candidates into the public system (in 2022, more than 69,200 students will be recruited).

In the specialized system (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted, Chu Van An High School, Son Tay High School), the total number of registered candidates is 11,283, the total quota is 1,895.

On June 10 and 11, candidates completed three exams: Math, Literature, and Foreign Language. The Math and Literature exams were in essay format, with a duration of 120 minutes each. For the Foreign Language exam, candidates took a 60-minute multiple-choice test, choosing one of the following languages: English, French, German, Japanese, or Korean.

10th grade admission score = (Math score + Literature score) x 2 + Foreign language score + priority score.

The city is divided into 12 enrollment areas. Each student can register up to three choices for three public high schools, ranked in order of priority. Of which, the first and second choices must be in the enrollment area according to regulations, the third choice is not required. Students cannot change their choices after registration.

Students who have passed their first choice will not be considered for the following choices. If they fail their first choice, they will be considered for their second and third choices, but must have an admission score 1-2 points higher than the school's standard score.
