According to representatives from the Da Nang Social Insurance agency, the delay in paying social insurance contributions is not only a violation of the law but also directly infringes upon the legitimate rights of employees.
When businesses fail to fulfill their obligations, employees risk losing their health insurance benefits, and may not receive sick leave, maternity leave, work-related accident compensation, or unemployment benefits.
The Da Nang Social Insurance agency stated that it will continue to urge and send notices to units that are late in paying; in cases of deliberate delay, coercive measures will be applied or the case will be transferred to the police for handling according to regulations.
The insurance agency also warned that prolonged debt would lead to large accrued interest, increasing the debt repayment pressure on businesses and simultaneously reducing employee confidence in their employers.
