Vietnam Athletics is urgently preparing for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. This is a competition that is considered to be full of challenges, as we have to compete on the field of the toughest opponent, Thailand. Therefore, the Athletics Federation has also taken actions to encourage the athletes' spirit.

Accordingly, if the target of 12 gold medals is achieved, the Vietnam Athletics Team will be awarded 1 billion VND from the Federation. This is clearly a great source of encouragement to help athletes strive to compete in the 33rd SEA Games. Currently, the Vietnam Athletics Team has a training force in China and a group of key players are training in Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Bac Ninh.

At the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam, Vietnamese Athletics won 22 gold medals, and at the 32nd SEA Games, they won 12 gold medals. Athletics at the 33rd SEA Games will compete for 47 sets of medals, taking place at 2 venues: Suphachalasai Stadium and the National Stadium from December 11-16.
