National Assembly delegation meets with voters in Quynh Luu district.

On the morning of October 7th, in Quynh Hong commune (Quynh Luu district), the delegation of the 15th National Assembly of Nghe An province, including Mr. Pham Phu Binh - Standing Member of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee; Ms. Thai Thi An Chung - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province; and Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Hien - Standing Vice President of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, met with voters from the three communes of Quynh Hong, Quynh Ba, and Quynh Hung before the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.

Representatives of the provincial National Assembly delegation informed voters about the expected content and program of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly; the results of the provincial National Assembly delegation's activities from the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly to date; and key tasks for the coming period.

Voters in Quynh Luu district have submitted numerous petitions to the National Assembly delegation and relevant departments and agencies. Specifically, voters in Quynh Ba commune reflected that the advanced and model new rural development programs include provisions for providing clean water to the people. However, they have not seen any government support policies for the construction of water supply facilities, leading to many communes and hamlets being unable to build water treatment plants. Therefore, they request that all levels of government pay attention and provide financial support for water supply projects.

Voters express their opinions and make suggestions.

Voters also suggested that the State should regulate the price of domestic water more clearly and fairly. Specifically, if the project is funded by private enterprises, the price should be higher, while if the project is funded by the state and the people, the water price should be lower.

Regarding the implementation of the Environmental Protection Law, voters in Quynh Ba commune also reflected that many points are still vague and unclear, leading to difficulties and wasted money for the people. Voters requested the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to consider: Not requiring environmental impact assessments when reclaiming small areas of rice paddy land; Clearly defining the minimum land area that must be reclaimed before environmental impact assessments are required; and not requiring environmental impact assessments for projects constructing local public welfare facilities such as village cultural centers, commune cultural centers, schools, and health stations.

Representatives from various departments and agencies, along with leaders from Quynh Luu district, attended the meeting.

In addition, voters in the three communes of Quỳnh Hồng, Quỳnh Bá, and Quỳnh Hưng also raised many concerns focusing on issues related to compensation for land clearance along National Highway 1A; issuing land use right certificates to the people; the deteriorating condition of the power grid system; health insurance policies for People's Council representatives; and increasing allowances for women's association branch leaders. Regarding emulation and commendation work, voters in Quỳnh Hưng commune expressed concern that some individuals awarded the Glorious Soldier Medal and the Liberation Medal have not yet received their rewards. Regarding personnel matters, representatives from the Quỳnh Lưu District Fatherland Front Committee also requested the Central Committee to consider increasing the number of deputy heads of the Fatherland Front and other mass organizations at the district level.

Mr. Hoang Van Bo, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu District, responded to and explained some of the voters' opinions at the meeting.

Based on the opinions and feedback of voters, the leaders of departments, agencies, and Quynh Luu district have directly responded to and explained a number of issues within their jurisdiction.

Ms. Thai Thi An Chung - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation - delivered a speech at the conference.

On behalf of the provincial National Assembly delegation, Ms. Thai Thi An Chung responded to issues within her authority; at the same time, she received opinions and suggestions from voters to forward to the Government, the National Assembly, and relevant levels and sectors for consideration and resolution.
