On the afternoon of April 9th, young journalists and youth union members from VTV5 Southwest and VTV Can Tho, along with sponsors, inaugurated two classrooms and a playground at Tan Long 2 Primary School (Phung Son A branch) - a sub-branch in Phung Son A hamlet, Tan Long commune, Phung Hiep district, Hau Giang province, covering an area of 328m2.

In addition, the classrooms are fully equipped with desks, chairs, learning materials, computers, and smart TVs, in accordance with the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training, serving the teaching and learning needs of the teachers and 121 students at the school. The total cost is over 1.6 billion VND (including the local government's matching funds).
Reportedly, Phung Son A school has five classes with a total of 121 students. All classrooms were built more than 20 years ago with basic structure and materials.
Sixty meaningful scholarships from benefactors were also delivered directly to poor but academically优秀 students by the youth of VTV5 Southwest and VTV Can Tho . (Photo: HD)
Due to severe structural damage, these classrooms were deemed unsafe for students. Before the project began, the school had to temporarily use functional rooms to replace the severely dilapidated classrooms.
With the construction of two new classrooms, the existing functional spaces have been restored to their original purpose. These new classrooms replace the old, dilapidated ones and the schoolyard that was frequently flooded.
