This result not only helped the Vietnamese women's volleyball team overcome their opponent for the first time in decades of defeats, but also brought home their first SEA V-League championship in history.
Following their defeat against the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, captain Ajcharaporn Kongyot frankly admitted the strength of coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team.
She believes the main reason lies in Thailand's inability to neutralize the home team's scoring plays, causing the game to gradually shift in favor of Vietnam, leading to consecutive losses in the last three sets.
"Winning and losing both have positive and negative aspects. Nobody wants to lose, but today's defeat has taught us a lesson. The whole team needs to reflect on our mistakes and get back to training. The Vietnamese girls' shots were extremely sharp."
They almost completely dominated the match from the third set onwards, and from then on our defense seemed overwhelmed and distracted. I hope Thai volleyball fans will continue to support the home team after this defeat. This is a big shock that the whole team needs to overcome; we've had both successes and disappointments.
"We hope you will always stand by our team and help Thai volleyball overcome this difficult time," Ajcharaporn Kongyot shared after the match.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team's outstanding performance was highly praised by experts, especially the performance of outside hitter Nguyen Bich Tuyen. The 25-year-old talent played all five sets, hitting the ball 72 times and scoring a total of 45 points (42% of the team's total points).
Bich Tuyen's outstanding performance earned her the title of best player of the match. "It's not wrong to say that Thailand lost because they couldn't handle Bich Tuyen's powerful spikes," wrote Thailand's Daily Online.
This victory served as sweet revenge for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team after their bitter 2-3 defeat against Thailand in the final of the first leg of the SEA V-League 2025.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team concluded the second leg of the SEA V-League 2025 with the top spot, bringing home the first championship title in history for Vietnamese women's volleyball.
