Tuyết Dung believes that set-piece tactics will help the Vietnamese women's team surprise their opponents.
"Against strong opponents, when we're stuck and can't get the ball forward, set pieces become crucial and help us decide the match."
"I really hope the Vietnamese women's team will take advantage of this and bring home a good result," Tuyet Dung said.
In addition, the midfielder from Phong Phu Ha Nam Club also emphasized the importance of teamwork and the fighting spirit of each individual.
“Coach Chung pays close attention to all situations on the field. Not only me, but all members of the team are trained and carefully monitored by the coach.”
Football is a team sport, so every position requires effort. In the upcoming tournament, we will face opponents who are physically imposing.
Therefore, recently the coach has often had the whole team practice set-piece situations, executed at short distances,” the key player of the Vietnamese women's national team shared.
Recently, the Vietnamese women's national team also finalized the schedule for two friendly matches against New Zealand and Spain on July 10th and July 15th, respectively.
Returning to the training session on the afternoon of June 30th, coach Mai Duc Chung divided the team into two halves to practice attack and defense.
The defenders are trained in defending against aerial balls and overlapping runs, as well as organizing their defense in set-piece situations.
Meanwhile, midfielders and forwards practiced passing combinations on the flanks and crossing the ball into the opponent's penalty area.
It is expected that on July 5th, Huynh Nhu and her teammates will leave Hanoi for New Zealand to prepare for the 2023 World Cup.
