The Vietnamese national team will be welcomed by double-decker buses from Noi Bai Airport to downtown Hanoi . On the afternoon of January 6th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to receive and congratulate the team on their ASEAN Cup championship victory.

The Vietnamese national team will return home this afternoon (January 6th) after defeating host Thailand 3-2 in the second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2024 final on the evening of January 5th, thus winning the championship with an aggregate score of 5-3 after two legs. The flight carrying coach Kim Sang Sik and his team is expected to land at Noi Bai Airport at 2:30 PM, where they will be welcomed by leaders from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of International Cooperation, the Department of Physical Education and Sports, and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) at VIP Guest House A. Afterwards, a double-decker bus will transport the team from Noi Bai Airport to the city center. An ambulance will also take player Nguyen Xuan Son directly to the hospital via the aircraft's gangway. It is expected that at 6 PM the same day, the Vietnamese team will have an audience with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Government Headquarters.
According to the planned schedule, at the meeting with VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan or VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu - head of the Vietnamese national team delegation at the ASEAN Cup - there will be a summary report on the preparation and results of the Vietnamese national team at the tournament. Coach Kim Sang Sik will give a speech sharing his feelings after the Vietnamese national team's wonderful journey at the ASEAN Cup 2024, bringing immense joy to Vietnamese fans.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister is expected to announce several awards for the Vietnamese team for their achievement in winning the Southeast Asian championship.
