On the evening of September 4th, the first-ever World MICE Awards ceremony was held in Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of many international and regional delegates.
Ho Chi Minh City has proudly achieved major awards, winning in three important categories, including: Asia's Best MICE Destination, Asia's Best Incentive Destination, and the ITE HCMC Fair being honored as Asia's Best Trade Show.
This is the fifth consecutive year that Ho Chi Minh City has maintained its position as "Asia's Leading MICE Tourism Destination," beating many strong competitors from other countries. The city also hosted the MICE Awards ceremony for the first time, a significant event for the MICE industry in the region.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the city has identified MICE tourism as one of the four key tourism sectors requiring significant investment. She emphasized: "This award not only demonstrates Ho Chi Minh City's capacity and attractiveness as a leading MICE destination, but also strengthens the city's position internationally."
With its modern infrastructure and rich culture and history, Ho Chi Minh City is an ideal location for international events. Ho Chi Minh City aims to become a leading destination in Asia by 2030, projecting an image of an "open, youthful, vibrant, and forward-looking" city. This requires continuous investment in improving service quality, diversifying tourism products and brands, and promoting sustainable development.
Notably, the ITE HCMC trade fair has made a significant mark by being honored as "Asia's Best Trade Fair". With 17 successful editions, ITE HCMC has become an important destination for domestic and international businesses operating in sectors such as aviation, hotels, tourism, and travel, facilitating connections and expanding international markets.
The World MICE Awards are part of a series of awards that evolved from the World Travel Awards.
Previously, in Manila (Philippines), the World Travel Awards honored Ho Chi Minh City as "Asia's Leading Business Travel Destination 2024"; Asia's Leading Festival & Event Destination 2024; and Asia's Leading City Tourist Board 2024.
