Ms. Hoang Thanh Thuy, Principal of Nguyen Truong To Secondary School, shared: “The ‘Recycling Knights’ activity was organized by GNI at Ngo Si Lien Secondary School, Nguyen Truong To Secondary School, Nam Tu Liem Secondary School, and Greenfield High School in Hanoi from November 23rd to December 12th, 2023. This is one of the activities under the ‘Give Me Socks’ project, a collaboration between GNI and Remarkable Vietnam, aiming to collect plastic bottles and recycle them into 10,000 pairs of socks to donate to children in the northern mountainous regions this winter. I will continue to maintain and expand this activity so that the children will have better attitudes and actions regarding environmental protection.”

The "Knights" activity of collecting and recycling plastic waste was enthusiastically supported by teachers and students.

After more than a week of launching, nearly 64,000 plastic bottles were collected by the children and contributed to the program. Congratulations to the children for becoming “recycling heroes” and having a remarkable collection achievement.

Each student is a recycling knight, working alongside their teachers and parents.

With such impressive numbers, let's continue spreading the message of reducing plastic waste by collecting and recycling used plastic bottles! “I feel this event is very beneficial as it creates an environment where we can raise awareness and participate in plastic bottle recycling. To reduce plastic waste, I will encourage my friends to use easily recyclable products such as water bottles and straws… contributing to environmental protection,” shared Pham Nhat Minh, a student in class 7A8 at Nguyen Truong To Secondary School.

It is necessary to maintain and expand activities that encourage students to have positive attitudes and actions regarding environmental protection.

With the support of GNI, students from schools have proactively accepted the environmental message and actively participated in the collection activities. GNI hopes that they will gradually form the habit of recycling disposable plastic products to bring green vitality to the earth and contribute to improving the quality of life for children in the northern mountainous region.
