Nearly 300 first graders of Le Quy Don Primary School were given helmets.

(gialai.gov.vn) - On the morning of December 8, at Le Quy Don Primary School (Dien Hong Ward), Honda Vietnam Company (HVN) coordinated with the National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC) and the Ministry of Education and Training to organize the Helmet Giving Program for first grade students in the 2025-2026 school year.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Huu Que - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Shinsuke Horiuchi, Deputy General Director of Honda Vietnam Company; representatives of the National Traffic Safety Committee, Traffic Police Department; leaders of relevant departments and branches of the province along with all staff, teachers, students and 250 parents of Le Quy Don Primary School.

The Helmet Giving Program for First Grade Students, jointly implemented annually by the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training , and Honda Vietnam Company, has become a social activity rich in humanity, spreading the message of safe traffic culture in every family and community.

The program originates from the awareness of the important role of wearing standard helmets in protecting traffic participants. Especially for first graders - an important age for forming cognitive thinking, creating a habit for them to always wear a standard helmet when sitting behind a motorbike is extremely necessary. At the same time, through the program, HVN hopes to spread the message to parents about the responsibility of protecting the safety of young children: "For your own safety and the future of your children, always obey traffic rules and wear a standard helmet for yourself and your children, even when they are under 6 years old".

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que expressed his deep gratitude to the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training, Honda Vietnam Company, and accompanying units for always paying attention and supporting the work of ensuring traffic order and safety in the province.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Gia Lai province always identifies the work of ensuring traffic safety and order in schools as a key task, associated with the goal of "building Gia Lai to be safe, civilized and livable". Many effective models such as "Traffic safety school gate", "Wearing helmets for children - full parental love" are maintained, spread and received consensus and widespread response from the people. Thanks to that, the rate of students wearing standard helmets in Gia Lai province is always high.

In the coming time, Gia Lai province will continue to effectively implement specific activities such as: Giving standard helmets to 100% of first graders in the province; Promoting propaganda and education on traffic laws in schools to enhance the responsibility of families, schools and society in protecting children's safety. At the same time, striving to reduce traffic accidents involving students, aiming for the goal of 100% of children wearing standard helmets when participating in traffic.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que called on teachers to continue to pay attention to and educate students to be aware of traffic laws, to wear helmets when being taken to school by motorbike, scooter, or electric bicycle; Parents should set an example and always remind their children to wear helmets every day - because wearing helmets for children is to preserve the love of parents; Students, please voluntarily wear helmets every time you ride a motorbike, scooter, or electric bicycle and remind your relatives to do the same, so that you yourself can become "Young Ambassadors of Traffic Safety".

The students were also instructed by the teacher on how to wear hats properly.

At the program, the Organizing Committee presented nearly 300 standard helmets to all first graders of the school; the students were also instructed on how to wear helmets properly, check the straps, and participate in educational games on traffic safety./.
