Placing a signboard at the project to welcome the 4th EVN Party Congress

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Party Committee of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Party Committee of the Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB) have just held a ceremony to attach a signboard to welcome the 4th Congress of the Party Committee of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), term 2025-2030 for the Vinh Yen 500kV Transformer Station and connecting line project.

Efforts to bring the project to the finish line to meet the schedule

The 500kV Vinh Yen Transformer Station (TSS) and connecting line project is a special-class, group B energy project invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB) is assigned to manage and operate the project, Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 3 designs, and Power Transmission Company 1 takes over and operates.

The 500kV Vinh Yen transformer station and connecting lines were built in Trung My commune, Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province (old), now Binh Tuyen commune, Phu Tho province.

The project has a scale of building a new 500/220/35kV substation including 2 transformers of 900MVA, each transformer is connected to a combination of 3 single-phase transformers, capacity of 300MVA; Building 500kV and 220kV feeder compartments; building 2 connecting lines of 4.7 km long.

The project implementation process encountered many challenges in site clearance compensation, resettlement arrangements for households, high fluctuations in material prices, and difficulties in mobilizing construction workers by contractors due to EVN and EVNNPT simultaneously implementing many key power projects...

The Vinh Yen 500kV substation site has many projects being implemented at the same time, many contractors participating in the bidding packages, leading to an impact on the progress of some items of the project. Along with that, in mid-May 2025, the new transformer was delivered to the station, so the unit coordinated with contractors to focus on working day and night to install and test and calibrate.

However, with the support and close direction of the local government, the Party Committee, the leaders and the Boards of the Group, the leaders of EVNNPT and NPMB are regularly present at the construction site to urge and remove obstacles to build detailed progress and construction plans for the items, along with the high determination of the contractors participating in the construction to complete the energization and put into operation of the 500kV Vinh Yen substation on July 21, 2025, meeting the set schedule.

The 500kV Vinh Yen transformer station and connecting line, when completed, will be connected to the 500kV Hiep Hoa - Son La and Hiep Hoa - Viet Tri lines, and will be the transfer point between two sources of thermal power and hydropower - from Son La and Lai Chau hydropower plants and thermal power clusters in the Quang Ninh area.

The transformer station will also be connected to the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen line after the completion of this line, promptly releasing power from small hydropower plants in the Northwest region and importing electricity, contributing significantly to ensuring electricity in the Northern region in the following years. The project, after completion, is very important to meet the demand for load growth of the Phu Tho province power system; Create strong links between regions in the power system, increase the ability to operate safely and stably for the national power system.

Continue to promote spirit to complete assigned projects

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Huu Tuan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietnam Electricity Group, warmly praised and congratulated the collective leadership, officers, engineers, and workers of EVNNPT, NPMB, consulting units, contractors, functional agencies, authorities and local people where the project passes through for joining hands, being unanimous, united, and making efforts to overcome all difficulties, bringing the project to completion on schedule, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.

In the past time, under the leadership of the Party Committee, the entire Group has overcome difficulties and challenges, energized many power projects and completed energizing 681 power grid projects from 110-500kV in the 2020-2025 term, contributing to the Group's basic assurance of electricity supply to serve the country's socio-economic development, including the Vinh Yen 500kV substation project and connecting lines.

The completion of the 500kV Vinh Yen substation project and the connecting line is the result of the emulation movement to successfully complete all assigned tasks, to which the staff of EVN in general and EVNNPT, NPMB in particular have contributed with all their intelligence and capacity.

The installation of the project sign today is not only an event to encourage and recognize the creative labor achievements of the staff, but also an important event to affirm the organizational, management, construction capacity and the courage to overcome difficulties of EVN and EVNNPT in the period of strong transformation to firmly enter a new term, a new era.

The installation of the project signboard is also a message and strong encouragement to the entire Party Committee of the Group: "Continue to strive, strive to compete to achieve practical and specific achievements to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress". In which, speed up the progress, ensure the quality of assigned projects, especially urgently complete the power source and grid projects to achieve achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 and practically to install the signboard to welcome the 1st Government Party Congress.

The Party Committee and leaders of EVN believe that with the tradition of solidarity, discipline, creativity and dedication, the collective of cadres, party members and employees of EVN in general, EVNNPT, NPMB in particular will continue to maintain a sense of responsibility, constantly learn, innovate management methods, improve the efficiency of investment and construction, excellently complete assigned political tasks, making an important contribution to the sustainable development of the Corporation and the Group.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Tuan Tung, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVNNPT said: The project was honored to be recognized by the Party Committee of the Group to be a project to welcome the 4th Party Congress of the Group, term 2025 - 2030 and was launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to compete with the highest efforts to complete the construction progress and ensure the quality of the project.

EVNNPT's upcoming tasks will be to complete many key and urgent projects under the direction of the Prime Minister and the Group with large construction investment volumes.

EVNNPT and its affiliated units will continue to strive to complete all tasks assigned by the Group. In the process of performing the tasks, the Party Committee of the Corporation hopes to continue to receive the attention and direction of the leaders of the Party Committee of the Group, the Group's specialized departments, and the joint efforts and support of local authorities so that EVNNPT can complete the assigned tasks, contributing to ensuring the country's energy security.
