With the aim of fostering literary exchange between Vietnam and Korea, the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, Nha Nam Publishing House, the Korean Literature Translation Institute, and Van Lang University are jointly organizing the Vietnam-Korea Literary Meeting in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the event (held on July 16th), the President of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, Bich Ngan, affirmed: " The meeting of Vietnamese and Korean literature is the result of the connecting efforts of the Literature Translation Council ( thuộc the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association), chaired by Dr. Nguyen Thi Hien, a translator. Based on that success, the organizing committee has connected with the Korean Literature Translation Institute – a cultural organization of the Korean government with over a quarter of a century of experience, and a large-scale strategy for promoting Korean literature to the world , including Vietnam."

According to writer Bich Ngan: "Through this literary meeting between Vietnamese and Korean writers, in addition to exchanging ideas about their profession, discussing inspiration and the creative process of literary works, the organizers hope to contribute to creating opportunities for promoting Vietnamese literature to the world and vice versa, potentially facilitating future international literary exchanges. From these international literary and cultural exchanges, we hope that the journey of bringing Vietnamese literature to readers worldwide will gradually overcome difficulties (or even deadlocks), if given due attention from the government and relevant agencies, so that good literary works can spread their humanistic values and contribute to fulfilling the mission of cultural 'ambassadors'."

On this occasion, literature lovers witnessed a "meeting" between three writers who have all achieved considerable success in literary creation: Korean author Pyun Hye-young (whose books published in Vietnam are: *Ashes of Red* and *Deep Black Hole *)   And two Vietnamese authors: poet Lê Thiếu Nhơn and writer Tiểu Quyên (who has many works and has won numerous awards).

Pyun Hye-young is known as one of the prominent writers of contemporary Korean literature, highly regarded by critics. She published her first book in 2000 and received numerous prestigious awards. Her works lean towards dystopian fiction, blending elements of psychological thrillers.

Poet Le Thieu Nhon has published more than 10 books, including poetry, satirical stories, and literary criticism. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee, Head of the Young Writers' Committee, and a member of the Poetry Council (Ho Chi Minh City Writers' Association). Le Thieu Nhon is also the editorial secretary of the Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper.

Writer Bui Tieu Quyen has published more than 10 books, including short stories, novels, and essays, and is currently a member of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, working at the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper.

Ms. Hien Nguyen, PhD in Korean Literature (Seoul National University), is currently the Head of the Department of Korean Language and Culture at Van Lang University and the Chairperson of the Council for Translated Literature (Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association).

The Vietnam-Korea Literary Meeting between Vietnamese and Korean writers was extremely lively. Besides exchanging ideas about their profession, discussing inspiration and the creative process of literary works, it was also an opportunity to promote Vietnamese literature to the world and to pave the way for future international literary exchanges organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association and the Korean Writers Association.
