On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang acknowledged and commended the achievements of local and central press agencies and journalists throughout the province in the past period. This was especially true in the propaganda work commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; the series of activities for the Dien Bien Phu National Tourism Year 2024; and the timely handling and guidance of public opinion in the face of negative information...

With many important national events scheduled for 2024-2025, Comrade Vu A Bang urged press agencies and journalists to continue upholding the fine traditions of revolutionary journalism, further innovating the content and methods of propaganda, and truly fulfilling their role as media outlets, bridges, and guides for information and public opinion to bring the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations to the people of all ethnic groups in the province. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that Party committees and local authorities in the province closely coordinate with press agencies, providing timely, accurate, and legally compliant information; and cooperate in commending outstanding individuals and collectives. He also emphasized that journalists should maintain sharp pens, quick thinking, strong political resolve, and a pure heart. Provincial press agencies need to further develop their internal strengths, innovate in thinking, and make breakthroughs in action regarding digital transformation in journalistic activities, moving towards modern "multi-platform" journalism rather than simply "multimedia" journalism...

At the meeting, the team of journalists from the province also had the opportunity to exchange and listen to professional insights on several topics: Dien Bien Phu Newspaper's innovation to improve the quality of its works, contributing to enhancing the quality of propaganda; the provincial Radio and Television Station's innovation to improve the effectiveness of its propaganda work; and promoting the role of central press agencies with offices in the locality in disseminating information...

Also on this occasion, the Organizing Committee of the Dien Bien Province Journalism Award held a ceremony to summarize and present the 2nd Dien Bien Province Journalism Award in 2023, with the theme "Dien Bien Phu: A Rendezvous for Peace". Based on the preliminary selection of hundreds of works from various branches, the Organizing Committee received 120 journalistic works for preliminary judging. These included 25 print articles, 25 online articles, 27 radio articles, and 43 television articles. After receiving the entries in accordance with the regulations, the judging panels conducted preliminary selections based on the categories of journalistic works submitted for the award, analyzed and compared them against the award regulations, and scored the entries in two rounds: preliminary and final. Through the judging process, the members of the Jury analyzed each work, evaluating its theme, social impact, form, and content to select the finalists and recommend to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision. 44 works and sets of works were awarded prizes. These included 4 first-prize winners, 8 second-prize winners, 12 third-prize winners, and 20 honorable mention winners.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Commendation to 3 collectives for their outstanding achievements in organizing the 2nd Dien Bien Provincial Journalism Award in 2023.
