As Garmin's flagship multi- sport GPS watch line, fenix has always been a source of pioneering innovations: from the fenix 6 (2020) – the world's first solar-powered smartwatch – to the fenix 7 (2022) with multi-band GNSS technology and an integrated LED flashlight.

Currently, Garmin continues that journey with the fenix 8 MicroLED, the world's first smartwatch with a premium MicroLED display, while also expanding features with inReach technology on the fenix 8 Pro series (including two versions: fenix 8 Pro AMOLED and fenix 8 Pro MicroLED).

"Fenix has always been a flagship product line, clearly demonstrating Garmin's spirit of innovation and groundbreaking technology. With the fenix 8 MicroLED, we want to set a new standard for the smartwatch market – delivering an unprecedentedly bright and clear display along with cutting-edge improvements to help users track maps, workout data, health metrics, and smart notifications with unparalleled clarity," said Susan Lyman, Vice President of Global Marketing at Garmin.

The world's first breakthrough MicroLED display.

With over 400,000 individual LEDs (measuring from just 1-10 microns), the fenix 8 MicroLED achieves a brightness of up to 4,500 nits, making it the brightest and sharpest smartwatch display ever. The screen also boasts a 15% wider color gamut, six times higher contrast, and ultra-wide viewing angles for consistently clear images even from an angle. Durability is also tripled with improved anti-smudge technology and significantly extended screen lifespan.

Alongside the fenix 8 MicroLED, Garmin also introduced the fenix 8 Pro Series (AMOLED and MicroLED) – the first generation of GPS multi-sport watches featuring inReach technology. This allows users to text, make calls, share their location, or send global SOS messages via satellite or LTE, even without their phone.

In remote areas with only satellite connectivity, the device still allows sending messages and location signals. When LTE is available, the fenix 8 Pro Series expands the experience with features such as calling, voice messaging, LiveTrack sharing, and real-time weather updates.

In an emergency, users can activate SOS to connect directly with Garmin Response – a 24/7 global support center. With over 20 years of experience and having coordinated more than 17,000 rescue operations worldwide, this team is capable of providing support in over 200 languages, ready to respond quickly and effectively in any situation.

Designed to accompany users on every journey, the fenix 8 Series is built to meet diving waterproof standards, features leak-proof metal buttons, durable sensor protection, a MicroLED touchscreen display with a premium titanium bezel, and includes an LED flashlight for low-light visibility.

This product integrates Garmin's most advanced features: from advanced training and performance tracking (Endurance Score, Hill Score), daily workout suggestions, pre-installed TopoActive maps, flexible routing, to the ECG app, sleep coach, Garmin Pay one-touch payment, and a range of other health tracking and connectivity features.

With its premium design, cutting-edge display technology, and a long-lasting battery of up to 10 days, the fenix 8 MicroLED 51mm version is not only suitable for sports training or exploration , but also comprehensively meets the needs of daily health care and an active lifestyle. The product is expected to officially go on sale in Vietnam on October 13th with a retail price of VND 54.89 million.
