Tay Ninh promotes high-tech livestock farming model
Tay Ninh province is focusing on developing high-tech livestock farming associated with restructuring the agricultural sector. The Provincial People's Committee has issued many preferential policies to attract high-tech livestock investment projects, while supporting value chain linkages and building disease-free zones.
Livestock farming in the area is gradually shifting to concentrated, industrial-scale farming, high-tech farming areas, and forming linkage chains. Currently, household-scale farming is increasingly shrinking, accounting for only about 30-40% of the total herd.
To date, the province has 163 concentrated livestock and poultry farming projects, with 102 farms in operation. These large-scale farms are all built according to the cold, closed farm model, automating feeding and drinking stages and building a complete waste treatment system.
Local authorities pay attention to disease prevention and vaccination against dangerous diseases in livestock, thanks to which the epidemic is relatively well controlled.
Tay Ninh has implemented many policies and investment incentives to encourage livestock development towards applying high technology and automation. The goal is to form a value chain link from farm production to consumption to create quality products, increase livestock value, and enhance competitiveness.
The province has proposed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment soon issue a set of criteria and technical guidelines on building disease-free zones according to WOAH standards. In addition, the province also proposed guidelines on the treatment and reuse of livestock wastewater and consider allowing localities to decide on livestock density based on actual conditions.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien said that he will take note of the recommendations and direct relevant Departments and Bureaus to provide guidance and work with localities to resolve them. The Deputy Minister also requested the Provincial People's Committee to continue to pay attention and accompany investors in deploying high-tech applications.
