Rice prices today, August 9th: Export rice prices increase, domestic prices remain stable.

Domestic rice prices

In the Mekong Delta, rice prices remained stable: IR 50404, OM 18, Nang Hoa 9, and Dai Thom 8 fluctuated between 5,700 and 6,200 VND/kg. Raw rice prices decreased by 50 VND/kg to 8,600-8,750 VND/kg; OM 380 at 8,200-8,300 VND/kg; OM 5451 at 9,500-9,650 VND/kg; IR 504 at 8,400-8,600 VND/kg; and OM 18 at 9,600-9,700 VND/kg.

Trading market

Rice supply in An Giang, Dong Thap, Ca Mau, Can Tho, and Long An has decreased, and transactions are slow. Traders are buying cautiously, and prices are relatively stable. In Sa Dec and An Cu, the amount of rice arriving is low, and the market is sluggish.

Export rice prices

Vietnamese rice export prices increased by 1-4 USD/ton: 5% broken rice at 395 USD/ton, 25% broken rice at 371 USD/ton, and 100% broken rice at 339 USD/ton. Vietnam exported 5.5 million tons of rice in the first seven months of 2025, an increase of 3.7%, but the Philippines temporarily suspended imports from September 1st and proposed increasing import tariffs, putting downward pressure on prices.
