On the morning of December 5, gasoline prices continued to increase by about 1%, Brent oil increased by 0.59 USD/barrel, equivalent to 0.94%, to 63.26 USD/barrel; WTI oil increased by 0.72 USD/barrel, equivalent to 1.22%, to 59.67 USD/barrel.
Hopes for a Ukraine peace deal have stalled, along with US interest rate cuts, which have helped oil prices rise again.
Analysts say the possibility of the US Federal Reserve cutting interest rates is outweighing all other factors and driving crude oil prices higher. In addition, escalating tensions between the US and Venezuela are also supporting oil prices, due to concerns that supplies from the South American country may decrease.

According to Reuters, hopes of an end to the conflict in Ukraine have put downward pressure on oil prices, as traders predict a deal could bring Russian oil back to the oversupplied global market. In a latest report, consulting firm Kpler said that Ukraine's drone campaign targeting Russian oil refining infrastructure has shifted to a more strategic and coordinated phase. This tactic pushed Russia's refining capacity down to about 5 million barrels per day in the period from September to November this year, down 335,000 barrels per day compared to the same period last year.
Domestically, yesterday afternoon (December 4), the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade adjusted the retail price of gasoline. Accordingly, gasoline prices were adjusted up by 451 - 534 VND/liter; oil prices decreased by 52 - 580 VND/liter/kg. Specifically, one liter of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 534 VND, RON 95-III gasoline increased by 451 VND/liter, diesel oil decreased by 420 VND/liter, kerosene decreased by 580 VND/liter and mazut oil decreased by only 52 VND/kg.
