World oil prices today
World oil prices closed lower on Friday, August 19 (Vietnam time). WTI crude oil was at $75.42 per barrel, down $0.12 per barrel, or 0.16%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at $75.54 per barrel and opened today's session at $75.58 per barrel.
Brent crude oil was trading at $79.59 per barrel, down $0.09 per barrel, or 0.11%. Brent crude closed the previous trading session at $79.68 per barrel and opened today's session at $79.63 per barrel.
According to analysts, if the situation in the Middle East does not escalate further, oil prices are likely to remain flat or not establish a clear direction until the US Federal Reserve (Fed) decides whether to lower interest rates at its September meeting.
Domestic fuel prices today
On August 19th, the retail prices of gasoline and diesel fuel, according to Petrolimex 's published price list in Zone 1 and Zone 2 (applied to 46 provinces and cities), are as follows:
The aforementioned domestic retail fuel prices were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade at the price adjustment session on the afternoon of August 15th. Accordingly, the price of fuel oil increased the most, by 217 VND/kg. Diesel fuel increased the least, by 89 VND/liter. E5 RON 92 and RON 95-III gasoline increased by 167 VND/liter and 179 VND/liter respectively. Kerosene also increased by 161 VND/liter.
Gasoline discounts today
The discounted prices of petroleum products today, August 19th, at some domestic gas stations are as follows:
Pvoil applies the following discounts on August 19th: Diesel: 1,550 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,500 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,250 VND/liter. These discounts apply at Pvoil Dinh Vu, Petec An Hai, and Cai Lan depots.
Tu Luc fuel company's discounts on August 19th are as follows: Diesel: 1,500 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,450 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,200 VND/liter.
MIPEC fuel discounts on August 19th: Gasoline 95-III: 1,200 VND; E5 gasoline: 1,000 VND; diesel: 1,600 VND/liter.
Forecast of domestic gasoline and diesel prices for the next period.
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic fuel prices will fluctuate according to the global fuel situation. It is predicted that in the next price adjustment period, fuel prices may be reduced. Specifically, gasoline prices could decrease by 200-300 VND/liter; diesel prices could decrease by less than 100 VND/liter.
Since the beginning of the year, starting from the price adjustment on January 4th, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 15 times. Diesel prices have increased 16 times and decreased 16 times.
