Awards are presented to authors and works that win prizes in the professional fields (literature, art, journalism, publishing). |
The creative campaigns on "Studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh" have been implemented synchronously across many forms: prose, poetry, music , theater, fine arts, film, and journalism, attracting both professional and amateur writers. On the evening of December 4th, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee organized the awarding ceremony for creative works and promotion of literary, artistic, and journalistic works on this theme (Phase 2, 2021-2025).
Comrade Duong Anh Duc, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, emphasized that promoting creative works about President Ho Chi Minh is not only an expression of gratitude to the leader but also contributes to fostering ideals in a dynamic and culturally diverse urban context like Ho Chi Minh City. Besides works praising President Ho Chi Minh, many works vividly reflect the learning and following of his teachings in various aspects of life. This year's award recognizes the large participation of young authors, affirming the widespread influence of the theme.
Journalist Nguyen Vo Quynh Anh, author of the report "Worthy of being called Ho Chi Minh's soldiers - soldiers of the people," which won the B prize in the professional category of the award, believes that to spread President Ho's ideology in the era of multi-faceted media, the press needs to approach the image of soldiers in peacetime in a close and authentic way, from rescue and relief operations to scientific research or peacekeeping missions.
The city itself is honored to bear the name of President Ho Chi Minh, creating a sacred connection and a direct, inexhaustible source of inspiration. The implementation of the Politburo's Directive 05 on studying President Ho Chi Minh's teachings has been elevated by the city's Party Committee to the level of building a "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space." President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, ethics, and style are disseminated not only through various movements but also deeply permeate every living, working, and learning space (schools, offices, neighborhoods). This allows journalists to easily find specific, simple, and humane stories in every corner of the city.
Bringing the artwork to the community.
In addition to focusing on creative work, the city places special emphasis on promoting outstanding works to the community through various cultural and artistic programs, theatrical performances, and art exhibitions organized at institutions, schools, and armed forces units.
In response to the Ho Chi Minh City 50th Anniversary Literature and Arts Conference and the series of events "Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Arts Days," the city has been screening free of charge the gold medal-winning plays from the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Theatre Festival 2024 for students, workers, and the general public. A highlight is the play "Comrade" (written by Le Thu Hanh, directed by People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau and Quoc Thinh), which tells the story of three generations in a military family, raising the issue of inheriting traditions and responsibility to the nation in the new era.
Simultaneously, literary and artistic associations such as the Writers' Association, the Journalists' Association, and the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association organized numerous seminars and workshops to exchange creative methods and approaches to the theme of Ho Chi Minh in a modern, emotionally rich way, avoiding dogmatism. From these professional forums, many young authors found suitable methods to get closer to this great theme.
This year's Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in Ho Chi Minh City saw over 300 activities at book streets. These activities, coordinated with the education and training sector, schools, and the armed forces, contributed to fostering reading habits among students and encouraging access to knowledge and traditional cultural values.
Numerous exchange programs and book launches, such as "Reading the History of Saigon-Ho Chi Minh City in One Breath," "From the Ben Hai River to the Independence Palace," "100 Years of Tan Son Nhat Airport," and thematic exhibitions on the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, have added emphasis to spreading historical values and gratitude towards previous generations. Within this cultural ecosystem, historical texts, memoirs, and war accounts play a special role. Works written from direct experience help convey emotions, humanistic values, and moral lessons to future generations more clearly.
It is evident that, by organizing the awards in a systematic manner, guiding creative content, improving the quality of works, and promoting them widely to the community, Ho Chi Minh City is creating a healthy creative space where Ho Chi Minh's ideology is continued and strongly disseminated. This is a crucial foundation for building an advanced cultural life, rich in national identity, and fostering spiritual strength for the city's people today and in the future.
