Professor Le Quan appointed Deputy Minister of Education and Training

TPO - The Prime Minister has appointed Prof. Dr. Le Quan (51 years old), Chairman of the Council and Director of Hanoi National University, to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training, starting from September 3.

Mr. Le Quan, born in 1974, is from Quang Ngai (formerly). He holds a high-level political qualification and a PhD in Management Science from the University of Toulon (France). He was appointed professor in 2017.

Prior to becoming the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Mr. Le Quan held numerous positions, including: Head of the Human Resource Management Department (University of Commerce); Director of the Center for International Training and Education (University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Head of the Personnel Organization Department of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Head of the Party Committee's Organization Department, Chairman of the Party Committee's Inspection Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau Province.

From June 2021 to the present, Mr. Le Quan has held the position of Chairman of the Council and Director of Hanoi National University.

It is known that during his more than four years leading the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Mr. Le Quan directed and resolved many related issues: restructuring the organizational apparatus, streamlining departments, and establishing new units such as the University of Law, the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, and the University Medical Hospital; initiating research institutes for cutting-edge technologies…

The new Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Le Quan, is also a member of the 15th National Assembly of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term.

On the same day, Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, was transferred and appointed by the Prime Minister to the position of Chairman of the Council and Director of Hanoi National University.

Thus, at this point, the Ministry of Education and Training has a Minister, Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, and Deputy Ministers including: Pham Ngoc Thuong, Nguyen Van Phuc, Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, Le Tan Dung, and Le Quan.
