TPO - The Hanoi People's Committee will provide financial support to districts for environmental protection in agricultural production, aiming to improve the city's environmental quality and reduce emissions from agricultural activities. The funding will be provided for the years 2024 and 2025.
The Hanoi City People's Committee's budget will be used for environmental protection in three areas: crop cultivation, livestock farming, and aquaculture.
In the aquaculture sector, Hanoi will allocate approximately 43 billion VND over the two years of 2024 and 2025 to provide environmental treatment products and oxygen enrichment equipment for aquaculture.
In 2024, the project is expected to be implemented in the districts of My Duc, Thanh Oai, Ba Vi, Phuc Tho, Me Linh, Chuong My, Ung Hoa, Phu Xuyen, and Quoc Oai. In 2025, it will be implemented in My Duc, Thanh Oai, Ba Vi, Me Linh, Chuong My, Soc Son, Phu Xuyen, and Gia Lam.
In the livestock sector, Hanoi provides financial support to districts to supply biological products for treating livestock waste to nearly 800 facilities, with a total budget of approximately 28 billion VND.
In 2024, funding will be allocated to the districts/towns of My Duc, Son Tay, Thanh Oai, Ba Vi, Phuc Tho, Me Linh, Ung Hoa, Soc Son, Gia Lam, and Quoc Oai, totaling approximately 11.7 billion VND.
In 2025, funding of approximately 16 billion VND will be allocated to the districts/towns of My Duc, Thach That, Son Tay, Thanh Oai, Ba Vi, Phuc Tho, Me Linh, Chuong My, Quoc Oai, Soc Son, Phu Xuyen, and Gia Lam.
In agriculture, the city plans to spend approximately 68 billion VND to provide biological products for processing crop by-products, purchase containers for pesticide packaging, and process pesticide packaging waste.
In 2024, the city will allocate approximately 6.2 billion VND to purchase biological products for treating crop by-products, supporting the districts/towns of My Duc, Son Tay, Me Linh, Chuong My, Ung Hoa, Phu Xuyen, Gia Lam, and Quoc Oai on an area of over 5,181 hectares.
Additionally, in 2024, the city provided 27 billion VND to support the districts/towns of My Duc, Thach That, Son Tay, Thanh Oai, Phuc Tho, Me Linh, Chuong My, Dong Anh, Ung Hoa, Soc Son, Phu Xuyen, Gia Lam, and Quoc Oai in purchasing containers for pesticide packaging and processing pesticide packaging waste.
In 2025, the city will continue to provide 35 billion VND in support to districts for environmental protection in crop production.
Environmental pollution in agricultural production has been a serious problem for many years in localities across the country, including Hanoi.
Pollution originates from sources such as fertilizers, pesticides, livestock waste, and aquaculture activities. In particular, in recent years, the burning of agricultural by-products after harvest in the suburban districts of Hanoi has caused serious air pollution in these districts/towns as well as in the inner city.
