Hanoi: Conclusion of the case of a male student who was beaten and suffered a traumatic brain injury leading to death

Regarding the death of an 8th grade male student at Viet Hung Secondary School, on August 14, the Investigation Police Agency of Long Bien District Police ( Hanoi City) issued the conclusion of the investigation into the case of "Intentionally causing injury".

Defendant Truong Van Minh (16 years old, in Viet Hung ward) was proposed to be prosecuted for the crime of "Intentionally causing injury", according to the provisions of point a, clause 4, article 134, Penal Code.

In the case, TVK (12 years old, Minh's younger brother) was identified as an accomplice, but at the time of the crime, K. was only 11 years, 5 months, and 20 days old, so he was not criminally responsible and was reported to the local authorities for management and education .

In the investigation conclusion, Long Bien District Police affirmed that Mr. TVT (father of Truong Van Minh) was not an accomplice with his son in causing the injury that led to the victim's death.

Previously, on the afternoon of March 17, TVK had a conflict while playing at Le Mat communal house and was slapped in the face by D. K. then ran to call his brother Minh to help resolve the conflict. When the two brothers walked to Le Mat communal house yard, they met their father and both told him about the incident.

Mr. T. immediately drove the two brothers to Le Mat communal house yard on his motorbike to see who was beating them. There, Mr. T. told his two children to go into the communal house yard, while he turned around to leave. At this time, Mr. T. saw Minh run in and punch D., causing him to fall to the ground, so he intervened and drove the two children home. After that, Mr. T. returned to Le Mat communal house yard and saw that D. was dizzy and pale, so he took the male student to Duc Giang General Hospital for emergency treatment.

The victim was then transferred to Hospital 108 for treatment. The hospital determined that D. had a traumatic brain injury, was in a coma, and had a high mortality rate.

On March 27, the Long Bien District Police Investigation Agency issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Truong Van Minh for the crime of “Intentionally causing injury”. On the afternoon of May 21, the victim NHĐ. died at the hospital.
