Hanoi: Industrial production continues to grow

Hanoi's Industrial Production Index (IIP) in November 2025 is estimated to increase by 0.9% over the previous month and by 8.5% over the same period in 2024.

Traditionally, November is the time when industrial production enterprises take advantage of time, focus resources, boost production, speed up to ensure export orders and meet the increasing year-end shopping needs of people at the end of the year. Therefore, in November, Hanoi industry not only maintained production but some industries and fields also had quite good growth, contributing significantly to the overall growth of the whole city.

According to Hanoi Statistics, in November 2025, the city's industrial production index is estimated to increase by 0.9% compared to the previous month and by 8.5% compared to the same period in 2024. In particular, the processing and manufacturing industry alone has a high growth index compared to the previous month. Specifically, compared to the previous month and the same period in 2024, the processing and manufacturing industry has an increase index of 2.2% and 8.8%, respectively. The remaining industries all have a decrease in index compared to the previous month and an increase compared to the same period in 2024, specifically: Electricity production and distribution decreased by 9% compared to the previous month and increased by 6.2% compared to the same period in 2024; water supply and waste and wastewater treatment decreased by 5.4% and increased by 4.3%; mining decreased by 14.2% and increased by 9.2%.

Some key industries increased sharply compared to the previous month and the same period last year, such as: Motor vehicle production increased by 5.7% compared to the previous month and increased by 20.0% compared to the same period last year; printing and copying of records increased by 7.2% and increased by 17.6%; machinery and equipment production increased by 6.8% and increased by 13.1%; metal production increased by 9.2% and increased by 12.8%; textiles increased by 8.4% and increased by 10.8%; leather and related products production increased by 13.0% and increased by 9.9%; medicine, pharmaceutical chemicals and pharmaceutical materials production increased by 14.8% and increased by 9.2%.

Thus, in the first 11 months of 2025, the city's industrial production index increased by 7.0% over the same period in 2024, of which the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 7.2%; water supply and waste and wastewater treatment increased by 6.7%; electricity production and distribution increased by 5.4%; mining decreased by 1.6%.

In the 11 months of 2025, many processing and manufacturing industries achieved high growth rates compared to the same period last year, such as: Motor vehicle production increased by 18.1%; non-metallic mineral product production increased by 13.6%; leather and leather product production increased by 11.1%; electronic product and computer production increased by 10.9%; metal production increased by 10.0%; printing and copying of records increased by 9.2%; chemical and chemical product production increased by 8.9%; garment production increased by 8.7%; drug, pharmaceutical and medicinal material production increased by 8.2%... Besides, 2/23 manufacturing industries had a slight decrease in IIP index compared to the same period: Bed, wardrobe, table and chair production decreased by 0.9%; electrical equipment production decreased by 0.4%.
