The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that in the next 24 to 48 hours, the area from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa and the South will continue to have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with common rainfall of 15-30mm, locally over 70mm, concentrated in the afternoon and evening, especially in the South.

This morning, October 16, in Hanoi, a strange phenomenon occurred due to an optical effect. At around 6am, the sky was covered in a yellow color like chicken fat and a rainbow appeared in the morning. According to meteorology, hydrology and optics experts, this phenomenon often appears after a shower and the sky has a lot of water vapor, leading to light refraction.
Specifically, the image in Hanoi is a single rainbow, appearing when sunlight shines through small water droplets in the air after a rain. When light enters the water droplets, it is refracted and then dispersed into different colors. This strange phenomenon has surprised many people in Hanoi.
However, the meteorological agency warned that in today's thunderstorms, many localities need to be on guard against the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
