Hai Duong proposes vaccination against African swine fever

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to discuss solutions to prevent African swine fever.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requested localities to review and accurately count the pig herd and synthesize the need for vaccination against African swine fever and send it to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development so that the Department can report to the Provincial People's Committee to consider allocating funds to carry out vaccination against African swine fever for meat pigs. This is one of the contents discussed and agreed upon by delegates at the conference on solutions to prevent African swine fever, chaired by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, held on the afternoon of July 16.

In addition to proposing vaccination against African swine fever, delegates discussed many issues surrounding disease prevention such as deploying, implementing drastic, synchronous and effective disease prevention solutions; assigning forces to proactively deploy disease surveillance to villages and residential areas to promptly detect and warn breeders.

Coordinate with specialized agencies and local authorities to strengthen inspection and supervision, detect outbreaks, and thoroughly handle small-scale outbreaks. Proactively implement measures and policies to support livestock farmers suffering losses due to epidemics in accordance with the law. Timely detect, prevent, and strictly handle cases of buying, selling, and transporting sick animals, animals, and animal products of unknown origin and not yet quarantined to prevent African swine fever and other animal diseases...
