
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requested that localities review and accurately compile statistics on pig herds and summarize the demand for African Swine Fever (ASF) vaccination, sending this information to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development so that it can report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and allocation of funds for the ASF vaccination program for fattening pigs. This was one of the issues discussed and agreed upon by delegates at the conference on solutions for preventing and controlling African Swine Fever, chaired by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on the afternoon of July 16th.
In addition to proposing vaccination against African swine fever, delegates discussed many issues surrounding disease prevention and control, such as the vigorous, coordinated, and effective implementation of disease prevention and control measures; and the assignment of forces to proactively monitor the disease down to the village and residential area levels to promptly detect and advise livestock farmers.
In coordination with specialized agencies and local authorities, strengthen inspection and supervision to detect outbreaks and decisively handle outbreaks within a limited area. Proactively implement measures and policies to support livestock farmers who suffer losses due to disease outbreaks in accordance with the law. Promptly detect, prevent, and resolutely handle cases of buying, selling, and transporting diseased animals, animals, and animal products of unknown origin or that have not undergone quarantine to prevent African swine fever and other animal diseases...

The Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine is strengthening inspection and supervision to detect outbreaks, especially African swine fever, ensuring early detection and timely handling; coordinating with specialized agencies under the People's Committees of districts and local authorities to organize the disposal of sick, suspected sick, and dead pigs (if any); guiding localities to proactively implement policies to support livestock farmers who suffer losses due to disease outbreaks in accordance with the law...
