On the afternoon of October 15th, representatives from the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine announced that Hai Duong province has had two localities complete the procurement procedures and begin administering African swine fever vaccine to fattening pigs at household farms. These are Hai Duong City, which has administered 3,920 doses, and Kinh Mon town, which has administered 1,660 doses of African swine fever vaccine.

Binh Giang district has completed the procurement procedures but has not yet started vaccination. Thanh Ha and Gia Loc districts are currently implementing the bidding process for purchasing African swine fever vaccines.

Previously, Hai Duong province administered nearly 2,000 doses of African swine fever vaccine to assess its safety. The results showed that all test samples demonstrated immunity, and the vaccinated pigs developed normally. The entire province plans to administer approximately 60,500 doses of vaccine to prevent African swine fever in all localities.

For the implementation of the 2024 autumn vaccination plan, the Provincial Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine has supplied millions of doses of various vaccines to districts, towns, and cities. This includes over 3.3 million doses of avian influenza vaccine, 115,970 doses of swine cholera vaccine, 89,170 doses of swine erysipelas vaccine, 8,630 doses of hemorrhagic septicemia vaccine for buffalo and cattle, and over 34,000 doses of rabies vaccine for dogs...

By October 15th, Hai Duong province had vaccinated approximately 50% of its livestock and poultry that were eligible for vaccination. The province's goal for this season is to vaccinate 80% of its livestock and poultry against diseases.
