Representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development inspect a pig farm in Cam Hoang commune (Cam Giang district) after vaccination against African swine fever.

To prevent and control African Swine Fever (ASF) promptly and effectively, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Duong province requests that district-level People's Committees urgently develop plans to implement Directive No. 21/CT/TTg of the Prime Minister, review, specifically compile and summarize the vaccination needs for fattening pigs, and organize mass vaccination of fattening pigs immediately after purchasing the vaccine. Priority should be given to vaccinating fattening pigs in high-risk areas, household farms, and small-scale farms. At the same time, it is necessary to promote and encourage medium and large-scale livestock organizations and individuals to proactively vaccinate against African Swine Fever.

In coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, closely monitor and supervise the pig herds, and take samples for testing to check the levels of protective antibodies after vaccination. Commune-level People's Committees shall establish vaccination teams to promptly handle any incidents after vaccination in their localities.

The Provincial Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine is intensifying its efforts to disseminate information and raise awareness through various means about the dangerous nature of African swine fever, the risk of disease recurrence and spread. It advises livestock farmers to implement biosecurity and disease control measures, apply disease prevention measures, and use African swine fever vaccines for their fattening pigs according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development

From the beginning of July until now, the Provincial Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine, in coordination with the Agricultural Service Centers of Gia Loc, Cam Giang, Thanh Ha, Kim Thanh districts and Kinh Mon town, has administered 750 doses of African swine fever vaccine. The results show that all samples tested after vaccination have ensured immune protection. All vaccinated pigs are developing normally.
