(HQ Online) - On March 21, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department organized a training conference on document work and customs control operations in 2024 for 39 officers and civil servants working in customs control from units under and affiliated to the Department.
The training conference aims to help officers and civil servants grasp the regulations and procedures on customs control records; the steps in developing plans, procedures, appraisal, registration, storage and preservation of records... of arising cases and cases.
The conference is also an opportunity for officers and civil servants to exchange and discuss difficulties and obstacles in performing their duties, and at the same time share many practical lessons, skills and expertise from their predecessors to equip them with more useful knowledge in customs control work. Thereby helping officers and civil servants to gradually improve their professional expertise and assigned work, contributing to promoting the completion of the political tasks of the Customs sector in the new situation.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sang, Deputy Director of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department, said that in the first months of 2024, there was a strong growth in import and export goods, vessels and passengers... participating in activities and procedures at Ba Ria - Vung Tau seaport. The strong increase in import and export goods and passengers is expected to help the growth rate of trade and tourism develop, contributing to promoting the country's economy .
In addition, the control and supervision work also poses many responsibilities for the units of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Customs Department. In particular, the increase in the volume of goods will lead to many violations related to smuggling, trade fraud, illegal transportation of counterfeit goods, fake goods, poor quality goods, banned goods... with a higher risk of occurring.
In particular, it is predicted that illegal goods entering the area will affect political security and social order and safety in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular and Vietnam in general.
Faced with that situation, right from the beginning of the year, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department has proactively developed many plans and prepared solutions to bring the best results to catch up with economic development. At the same time, being proactive in all situations to ensure the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, weapons, and drugs that can penetrate the Vietnamese market, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sang added.
