On the morning of February 27th, a serious incident occurred on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street (Ho Chi Minh City), when a 58-year-old security guard was assaulted and rendered unconscious simply for reminding a couple not to bring their dog into the park.

Instead of complying with the regulations, the young man not only argued but also snatched the security guard's iron baton to attack him, causing serious injuries.

This incident is not only a serious violation of the law, but also reflects an alarming reality: many dog owners disregard public regulations and underestimate the potential risks of bringing their pets into restricted areas. These selfish individuals only care about their own pleasure, disregarding the community's well-being.

The ban on bringing dogs into pedestrian areas, parks, or playgrounds is not unreasonable. No matter how gentle and well-trained a dog is, it is still an animal and can react unexpectedly in crowded environments.

Why are dogs not allowed in some public places?

1. Causing panic among those around you.

Not everyone loves dogs. And many people—especially children—are very afraid of dogs. Even a gentle dog, if not muzzled and approaching a child, can cause the child to panic and fall.

2. Risk of losing control and causing danger.

In crowded places, dogs can become agitated or startled by noise, leading to undesirable behavior. There have been many cases of dogs biting people even though their owners had previously claimed they were "very gentle."

3. Public hygiene issues

Taking dogs to the park without cleaning up their waste is a common occurrence. Many playgrounds and pedestrian areas have faced unsanitary conditions due to the lack of awareness among pet owners.

4. Conflict between dog owners and the community

As seen in the incident on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), instead of complying with regulations, some people chose to argue or even resort to violence when reminded of the rules. This not only affects public order and security but also tarnishes the overall image of the pet-owning community.

Owning a pet is a right, but it's also a responsibility.

A civilized society is judged not only by how people treat animals, but also by their awareness of respecting shared spaces. If you love pets, show it by being responsible for them, not by ignoring rules and attacking people who are simply doing their jobs.

This tragic incident is not only a lesson in community awareness, but also a reminder that when the law is not respected, anyone can become a victim, just like that elderly security guard.
