Le Loi Street corridor turns into garbage collection site

Both sides of the corridor of Le Loi Street, Minh Xuan Ward, from Hoang Viet General Hospital to Tuyen Quang Electricity Company, are becoming illegal collection points for household waste.

The waste collection sites are located just a few hundred meters from Hoang Viet General Hospital.

According to our reporter's observations, there are at least three collection points for household waste along both sides of Le Loi Street, about 300 meters from Hoang Viet General Hospital, containing all kinds of waste such as: discarded plastic, glass bottles, plastic bags, and even soil and rock waste from construction activities…

All kinds of waste are piled up on both sides of Le Loi Street.

Mr. Ta Thanh Son, a resident of residential group 9, Y La, Minh Xuan ward, said: "I live nearby and often see people and even some agencies and organizations bringing household waste to dump on the sidewalk of Le Loi street. At first, only occasionally did people bring garbage to dump, but now, this area has become a large-scale garbage collection point."

When the amount of trash becomes excessive, people in the area have to burn it to reduce environmental pollution.

According to our findings, when excessive amounts of waste accumulate, emitting foul odors and causing environmental pollution, residents in the area resort to burning it to reduce the impact on their lives. Therefore, it is crucial that the relevant authorities and the Minh Xuan ward government find solutions to eliminate these illegal waste collection sites.
