Among the participants, Ngo Minh Hieu (born in 2003, residing in Ea Na commune, currently a final year student at a university in Ho Chi Minh City) is one of the young faces donating blood for the first time.
Hieu confided: “The first time I donated blood, I felt quite nervous and afraid of the pain, but when I heard the volunteers share about the meaning of donating blood, I gradually calmed down. When the drops of blood were given, I felt very happy and proud because I knew I was doing something useful, that could save others. This is an experience I will never forget.”
Mr. Ngo Dinh Cuong (Ea Bong commune official) has been involved in the blood donation movement in Krong Ana district for more than 10 years. |
With the desire to help patients overcome critical conditions and take advantage of the opportunity to visit home, Mr. Dao Ngoc Giap (born in 1995, residing in Ea Na commune, currently working in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) and his sister came to donate blood. Mr. Giap shared: "Donating blood is a small thing but can save a person's life. I hope my actions will contribute to spreading the spirit of compassion to more people."
The blood donation movement in Krong Ana district also recognized examples of perseverance in this humanitarian work. A typical example is Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet (born in 1990, Vice Principal of Hoa Hong Kindergarten, Bang ADrenh commune) who has donated blood more than 30 times. Ms. Tuyet always enthusiastically responded whenever the locality had a voluntary blood donation campaign. Ms. Tuyet confided: “I hope that my drops of red blood will light a small fire, bringing hope and faith to patients in urgent need of blood and to their relatives. I will continue to donate blood to help more people.”
Another positive factor is Mr. Ngo Dinh Cuong (a cadre of Ea Bong commune) who has been involved in the voluntary blood donation movement for more than 10 years. Mr. Cuong said that he started donating blood during his military training and has kept that habit until now. Every time he donates blood, he feels more optimistic because he knows he can help others in difficult times. Mr. Cuong's optimism and enthusiasm have spread to his family. His wife - Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung Trang, along with 4 other acquaintances also actively participate in donating blood, creating a close-knit and compassionate voluntary blood donation group in the locality.
Voluntary Blood Donation Day is an opportunity for many people in Krong Ana district to express their spirit of solidarity with the community. |
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Thu, Chairman of the Red Cross Society of Krong Ana district, every year the Red Cross Society of the district coordinates with departments and branches to organize two voluntary blood donation campaigns. In 2024 and early 2025 alone, the district collected a total of 865 units of blood. This result shows that the voluntary blood donation movement in the area is increasingly spreading, enthusiastically responded by many cadres, union members, youth and people. Voluntary blood donation not only spreads widely in the community but also becomes a beautiful humane feature of many people in Krong Ana district.
