From October 22-26 at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, there will be an exhibition "Waiting for the day the cranes return" and a book launch "Red-crowned cranes" by photographer Nguyen Truong Sinh - founder of the Vietnam Nature Photography Club.

The book is a collection of 400 photos selected from 100,000 original photos, taken over 10 years of traveling through wetlands in Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Myanmar and Australia, comprehensively recording the life, behavior and ecological environment of the red-crowned crane (grus antigone) - a sacred symbol of love and life in East Asian culture.

With 372 large pages of 27.5 x 27.5cm, the photo book "Wishing for the day the cranes return" by author Nguyen Truong Sinh conveys patience and compassion and is a place where art meets science and photography, becoming a voice of hope and responsibility for Vietnam's nature.

The exhibition brings 56 paintings with the desire to show gratitude to nature and call on the community to take action for the revival of the wild environment in general, with bird species listed in the Vietnam Red Book and the IUCN Red Book of the world in particular.

“I take photos not only to preserve beauty, but to record the fragility of life. A photo can touch an emotion, but I hope a photo book can move the whole community,” photographer Truong Sinh shared.

To ensure the content of the book and each photo, the author relied on many scientific documents, reports of international organizations such as BirdLife International, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) as well as exchanges with domestic experts and conservationists.
