Students rejoice at the special Opening Ceremony

On the morning of September 5, more than 26 million students nationwide happily went to school to attend the special Opening Ceremony. This is an event with a "double" meaning, both welcoming the new school year and celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Education sector's tradition, opening a period of transformation with the spirit of "Discipline - Creativity - Breakthrough - Development".

The opening ceremony for the 2025-2026 school year will be held in a special way, coinciding with the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Education sector's tradition and the opening of the 2025-2026 school year.

At exactly 8:00 AM, the opening ceremony was held live at the National Convention Center ( Hanoi ), broadcast live on VTV1 of Vietnam Television and connected online to approximately 52,000 educational institutions, from preschool to university (public and private) nationwide.

At Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School (Phuc Loi, Hanoi), the school arranged for students in grades 1, 2, and 3 to attend the opening ceremony online from their classrooms.

The 4th and 5th grade students participated from the schoolyard via a large LED screen.

At Xa Dan Primary and Secondary School (Dong Da district, Hanoi) - the first specialized school primarily for hearing-impaired children in Vietnam - teachers and students enthusiastically participated in the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new school year, Ms. Dang Thi Hong Minh - Principal of Minh Khai Kindergarten (Tay Tuu, Hanoi) said: "Today, Minh Khai Kindergarten is spacious, modern, green, clean, and beautiful. It is not only a source of pride for the locality but also a second home, where every child receives love, care, and has their dreams nurtured. The entire staff, teachers, and employees of the school always bear in mind: 'Education from the heart to create happy children,' so that every day at school is a day full of joy and meaning for the children."

The 2025-2026 school year will be the first year the entire country operates under a two-tiered government model, in which preschools, primary schools, and secondary schools are directly managed by the commune level. This will also be the first year that students at all levels will attend school for two sessions per day completely free of charge.

Students and teachers at schools across the country are joining in the joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere of the opening ceremony, ready to embark on a new school year.
