Journalism: a profession of intelligence and responsibility
In response to your concerns, journalist Bui Tien Dung - Editorial Secretary and Head of Education - Youth Department, Director of Tuoi Tre Training Center - said that this is closely related to algorithms.
Social media platforms prioritize what users click on most often. So if a person reads a lot of negative news, the algorithm will continue to push more negative content to them.
Negative news is especially interesting because of the curiosity it generates. That is why unusual content, from a minor incident on a flight to a sensational story, is more likely to stand out than normal, positive information.
" Tuoi Tre Newspaper always advocates balancing content, not chasing views or negative emotions but maintaining the value of information. There are news stories that do not have many views but have real value for the community. The media must be responsible for preserving that," Mr. Dung shared.

In addition to the question and answer session, the atmosphere of the class became more exciting when the students participated in a quiz game to learn about Tuoi Tre newspaper. The students were quite excited and answered quickly and accurately, demonstrating their understanding and initiative in learning about the history, value and activities of the newspaper.
As the candidate with the highest score in the multiple choice section, Gia Linh (grade 11.8) shared that before the tour she had not yet determined her career direction.
However, direct experiences at the editorial office have helped you broaden your perspective, feel that if you pursue the field of communications, you will be able to develop your capacity and be confident in your abilities.

Help with career orientation
In addition to learning about journalism and how to operate an editorial office, students have the opportunity to visit the converged editorial office and the Tuoi Tre Newspaper Training Center.
At the end of the tour, Kim Yen (class 11.8) said that the trip brought her a lot of joy. A social science student, she enjoyed this activity because she got to get closer to the field of media that she is passionate about.
"The practical experience at the newsroom helped me strengthen my dream and orient my future because I was always curious about how a press agency operates," Kim Yen said.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Tu - Principal of the school - said that the trip created an opportunity for students to determine for themselves whether journalism, communications or related fields are suitable for their abilities, interests and future career orientation.
It is valuable that students can learn and share experiences not only from teachers and friends but also from businesses and media agencies. Activities that help students get in touch with real working environments like this are very valuable.
"In reality, sometimes you don't really hear what your parents or teachers say, but when you talk directly to someone who is doing the job, you believe and remember more easily. And once you believe, you will practice.
Today's lessons are not only useful for those who want to pursue a career in journalism, but can also be extended to many other professions," Ms. Tu affirmed.
