The biggest trading destination of the autumn season.

Reporter: Sir, the 2025 Autumn Fair is considered a key trade promotion event of the year. How do you assess the role of this program?

Mr. Vu Ba Phu: This is a national-scale comprehensive trade promotion event directed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade , aimed at stimulating domestic consumption and expanding export markets. More than just a place to promote products, the Autumn Fair is also a meeting point connecting Vietnamese businesses with international partners, helping Vietnamese goods increase their value and gain a stronger presence in the global market.

This year's event (Autumn Fair 2025) brings together approximately 3,000 booths from domestic businesses and is expected to welcome around 40 international delegations and millions of visitors. The booths are organized in a way that emphasizes experiential, interactive, and smart shopping, reflecting modern commercial trends where products are told through stories of Vietnamese culture, people, and heritage.

Reporter: What new features will make the Autumn Fair more attractive this year, sir?

Mr. Vu Ba Phu: We are implementing a "Real Fair – Virtual Fair" model, combining direct experience at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC) and a digital platform. Businesses can showcase their products through physical booths and online 3D booths, and simultaneously livestream trade with domestic and international customers.

This is a significant step in the digital transformation of trade promotion activities, helping small and medium-sized enterprises save costs and expand their customer base without being limited by space or time. This model is also in line with the Ministry of Industry and Trade's direction to implement a comprehensive digital trade promotion ecosystem.

Another highlight is the exhibition area showcasing green, sustainable, and innovative products – reflecting modern consumer trends and the government 's green growth orientation. The dedicated area for startups and young businesses is also a highlight, encouraging innovation and connecting Vietnam's new generation of entrepreneurs.

Reporter: What are your expectations regarding the impact of the Fair on domestic consumption?

Mr. Vu Ba Phu: The Autumn Fair is an important tool in the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" program. With thousands of booths and diverse brands, the event helps businesses directly reach consumers, increase brand awareness, and stimulate the purchase of Vietnamese goods.

Beyond the shopping aspect, the fair also encourages experiences and brand storytelling, helping consumers better understand the value of Vietnamese products – from the origin of raw materials and production processes to regional cultural elements.

Once trust is built, the value of Vietnamese goods lies not only in price, but also in quality and identity – this is the foundation for sustainable development of the domestic market.

Regional linkages and upgrading export value chains.

Reporter: How do you assess the export opportunities for Vietnamese goods and businesses arising from this event?

Mr. Vu Ba Phu: The Autumn Fair is not only a place to showcase products, but also a starting point for regional, industry, and key market linkages.

This year, we worked closely with Vietnamese trade offices abroad to invite more than 40 international delegations (including importers and partners) to visit and sign cooperation agreements, reinforcing our goal of bridging Vietnam's trade, investment, and culture to the world . Participating businesses received direct support and guidance on stringent international market standards such as export standards, traceability, green certification, and the application of digital transformation in trade.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade will develop a series of seasonal trade promotion events, with the Autumn Fair serving as the central model.

The Trade Promotion Department will also support connecting businesses with cross-border e-commerce platforms, helping Vietnamese goods participate more deeply in the global supply chain. Many businesses exporting key products such as agricultural products, textiles, and handicrafts have expressed their desire to expand cooperation and seek new markets after the fair.

Reporter: Will the Autumn Fair model be replicated in the future, sir?

Mr. Vu Ba Phu: Absolutely. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is orienting the development of a series of seasonal trade promotion events (four seasons), with the Autumn Fair being the central model, combining trade – experience – digital data (Trade Promotion Big Data).

From 2026 onwards, this model will be studied for replication in key economic regions such as the Mekong Delta, the Central Highlands, and Northern Vietnam. Each locality will have its own 'version' linked to regional specialties, traditional crafts, and culture, while also supporting innovation and cultural industries.

We also aim to build a digital trade promotion data platform (Trade Promotion Hub) – a place connecting trade fair information, partners, investors, and consumer data, helping promotion activities become more professional, in-depth, and effective, with the goal of building a comprehensive digital trade promotion ecosystem for Vietnamese goods.

Reporter: How do you expect the Fair to contribute to Vietnam's economic growth this year?

Mr. Vu Ba Phu: We believe that the Autumn Fair 2025 will create a positive ripple effect on consumption, production, and exports, contributing to achieving the GDP growth target of over 8% in 2025.

This is not just a trade promotion activity, but a foundation for restoring market confidence, encouraging businesses to innovate products, management, and business models towards greater sustainability and green transformation.

With the spirit of "Vietnamese people use Vietnamese goods – Vietnamese goods reach the world," the Autumn Fair 2025 is a testament to the strong vitality of the domestic market and the resilience of Vietnamese businesses during this period of recovery and acceleration.

Reporter: Thank you very much, sir!
