At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Van Quang - Rector of Nam Can Tho University - emotionally shared that these were the sentiments that the youth of Nam Can Tho University wanted to convey and share with the people in the flood-stricken areas, especially the students in those affected.

In the spirit of "sharing food and clothing," immediately after seeing the heartbreaking images of loss suffered by the people and students in the flood-stricken areas, the school's leadership, the Youth Union, and the Student Association launched a fundraising campaign, expressing their heartfelt support for the people of the North.

The fundraising campaign launched by the Youth Union took place from September 11th to September 18th, with over 25,000 students and trainees participating and contributing. The total amount raised during this campaign was 130 million VND, which was handed over to the Tuoi Tre newspaper's program.

"We hope Tuoi Tre newspaper will act as a bridge, sending thousands of heartfelt messages from students of Nam Can Tho University to our compatriots and students in the North," said Professor Quang emotionally.

Representing the students of Nam Can Tho University, Nguyen Quoc Khang - a multimedia communication student - shared that although the amount contributed was not large, "it represents our heartfelt support for those affected by the floods in the North."

"As soon as we saw the news about the damage suffered by people in the storm-affected areas, and when the school launched a fundraising campaign, almost all of us students participated and encouraged our relatives to contribute."

A representative from Tuoi Tre newspaper received the donation from students of Nam Can Tho University. Journalist Hoang Tri Dung (Head of Tuoi Tre Newspaper's office in the Southwest region) expressed his gratitude for the contributions from the youth union members.

Tuoi Tre Newspaper will act as a bridge, delivering this money, along with contributions from its readers, directly to those affected by the floods and storms in Northern Vietnam. This will be especially for post-flood reconstruction programs, scholarships for students, and the repair and construction of schools in the affected areas.

Previously, the entire faculty and staff of the school also contributed one day's salary to support people in the North affected by typhoon No. 3, with a total amount of 650 million VND, which was transferred to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City.
