Strong development in both quantity and quality

According to statistics from the Lam Dong Cooperative Union, by the end of 2025, the whole province will have about 956 cooperatives operating in the agricultural sector, attracting about 23,900 members and creating jobs for many workers. The average revenue of each agricultural cooperative is about 1.5 billion VND/year, with a profit of 200 million VND/year.

Hoang Nguyen Organic Agriculture - Trade - Service Cooperative, Thuan Hanh commune currently has more than 200 members, associate members producing about 1,000 hectares of pepper, of which more than 195 hectares are internationally organic. Products are exported to Europe at higher prices than conventional products. In addition, the Cooperative is diversifying agricultural products in the organic direction such as: growing avocado, durian, coffee. In the past 3 years, Hoang Nguyen Cooperative has achieved an annual revenue of about 80 billion VND, showing great potential when the Cooperative is on the right track - clean, organic production, with international certification.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu - Director of Hoang Nguyen Cooperative shared: "The cooperative must gather farmers to become members, associate members and unanimously comply with organic production processes to develop sustainably."

Mr. Vu Dinh Tien - a member of Hoang Nguyen Cooperative has 4 hectares of pepper certified to international organic standards. Last year, he harvested 20 tons of organic pepper. Mr. Tien said: "After joining the Cooperative, his family's pepper garden was certified as internationally organic, so the output was stable, the selling price was about 30% higher than the market price, and some years the price was double the previous price."

Production according to value chain

One of the strategic directions that brings high efficiency is that Lam Dong 's cooperatives focus on applying high technology to production. Currently, the whole province has about 400 cooperatives applying technology to production such as: using greenhouses, net houses, drip irrigation systems, IoT control, along with modern processing and packaging machines. In particular, Hoa Le Clean Dragon Fruit Cooperative, Ham Thuan commune has more than 200 hectares of dragon fruit, of which 10 hectares meet GlobalGAP standards. In recent years, the cooperative has strongly developed processed dragon fruit products and has had 17 products certified by OCOP. Mr. Do Thanh Hiep - Director of Hoa Le Clean Dragon Fruit Cooperative shared: "In addition to applying GlobalGAP dragon fruit growing techniques, the cooperative invests in machinery, equipment, and processing technology to increase product value".

Tia Sang Cooperative, Bac Gia Nghia Ward, invested in a factory to process passion fruit and durian for export to Korea and China, achieving a revenue of over 20 billion VND/year. Mr. Nguyen Truong Phuong - Director of Tia Sang Cooperative shared: "Exporting agricultural products requires the Cooperative to be strict in the quality of products provided to partners. Members and associate members of the Cooperative must also focus on changing their agricultural production mindset, focusing on the care process to meet standards, and cannot produce massively like before."

Assessment of Lam Dong Cooperative Union shows that agricultural cooperatives play a very important role in restructuring production, linking production, consuming agricultural products, creating jobs and increasing income for members, contributing to changing the face of the countryside.
