Nearly 100 people mobilized to control forest fire in Cam Hong commune

At around 11am today, July 7, a fire broke out in the forest area of ​​Bac Hoa village, Cam Hong commune, Quang Tri province. Local authorities quickly mobilized nearly 100 people from various forces to participate in firefighting.

Upon receiving the news, Cam Hong commune authorities mobilized functional forces such as police, border guards, military , forest rangers, officials, civil servants and forest owners to quickly go to the scene to put out the fire.

Although the weather was hot and sunny, the vegetation in the burning area was mainly casuarina and rươi, but the firefighting forces quickly contained and controlled the fire from spreading.

Cam Hong Commune People's Committee Chairwoman Tran Thi Ngoc Tram said that by nearly 3 p.m. the same day, the fire was basically under control. According to initial information, the fire damaged about 2 hectares of forest, mainly ruoi trees and some areas of acacia.

Currently, local authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and sending forces on standby to prevent the fire from re-igniting.
