Khanh Son District Party Committee gives 'hot' instructions

On September 29, the Office of Khanh Son District Party Committee ( Khanh Hoa ) announced that it had issued a notice of direction from the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee regarding the incident of arbitrarily blocking the road leading to the durian plantation of many households in Cam Khanh village, Son Lam commune.

In the immediate future, Khanh Son District Party Committee assigned the Party Committee and People's Committee of Son Lam Commune, along with departments, branches and organizations in the commune to propagate and mobilize to create conditions for households to use the common path to promptly take care of their plants, while waiting for the authorities to inspect and resolve according to regulations.

The Party Committee and People's Committee of Son Lam commune were assigned to coordinate with the district's functional agencies to inspect and re-determine the origin of land use, issue land use right certificates, and clearly identify the disputed area to serve as a basis for propaganda, mobilization, and mediation between households in using the common road in accordance with regulations and in accordance with the actual situation.

The Standing Committee of the District Party Committee assigned the District People's Committee to direct the relevant agencies to urgently inspect the locality to promptly resolve the issue in accordance with regulations. Organize work with the Party Committee and People's Committee of Son Lam commune to resolve some difficulties and problems of the locality in the field of management, handling of petitions and letters; and the implementation of political tasks in the locality.

The Party Committee and People's Committee of Son Lam commune are responsible for reporting the results of handling the case to the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee to notify and respond to citizens in accordance with regulations.

Speaking to Thanh Nien reporter on the evening of September 28, Mr. Dinh Van Dung, Chairman of Khanh Son District People's Committee, said that after receiving the petition and press information reflecting the incident, the district directed a district vice chairman to set up an inspection team, grasp the information and go to the scene to conduct a field inspection; work with Son Lam commune and related parties to come up with the most reasonable solution. "The district is waiting for the report results from the inspection team to consider further handling directions; at the same time, report to the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee for timely direction," Mr. Dung informed.

Up to now, households have shared a single road to get to their fields for farming . This road passes through many plots of land of households, formed decades ago. In 2009, the road was widened to about 5 - 6 m to facilitate travel and crop care.

Up to now, the traffic on this road has been normal for households. However, more than 2 weeks ago, this road was dug by Mr. LTT's family (residing in Cam Khanh village) with an excavator digging a deep hole, almost completely destroying a stretch of road hundreds of meters long (the road was destroyed through Mr. T's land) with the purpose of not allowing people and vehicles to travel.
