Opening of the Club Cup

BTO - On the afternoon of September 15th, as part of the activities of the National Tourism Year of Binh Thuan - Green Convergence, the Club Football Cup tournament is preparing to kick off at Phan Thiet Stadium from September 15th to 24th, much anticipated by football fans.

Mr. Bui The Nhan - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

Mr. Bui The Nhan – Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province – attended, welcomed, and extended best wishes to the leaders, delegates, team leaders, coaches, athletes participating in the competition, supervisors, referees, and sponsors who have accompanied the 2023 Binh Thuan Provincial Club Football Championship. He emphasized that the 2023 Binh Thuan Provincial Club Football Championship is being held in the atmosphere of nationwide emulation to achieve accomplishments in celebration of major holidays throughout the year, in response to the 2023 National Tourism Year “Binh Thuan - Green Convergence”, and to further promote the campaign “All people practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh”.

Certificates of merit and commemorative flags were presented to the clubs participating in the tournament.

The football tournament features 9 strong clubs: FC Minh Khang, FC Vien Phuong, In Ly Minh Hieu, FC M&M, FC Mi Cay Seoul, FC Food&Coffee Home, FC Qua Lan, VLXD Son Thao, and the local U17 Binh Thuan team. The teams will be divided into 3 groups. The Club Cup will be played in a round-robin format within each group, with the top 3 teams from each group and the best-performing second-place team (from all 3 groups) advancing to the semi-finals and final (with third place shared by all 3 teams).

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the first match took place between FC Minh Khang and FC Mi Cay Seoul, ending in a 1-1 draw. Subsequent matches will be played at Phan Thiet Stadium (free admission). This tournament features 9 teams, with 219 athletes competing from September 15th to 24th, 2023.
