To practically organize activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2025), and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Mining Region (April 25, 1955 - April 25, 2025), on the evening of April 26, the People's Committee of Dam Ha district organized the opening ceremony of the 2025 Ethnic Groups' Culture and Sports Week.
The Dam Ha District Ethnic Culture and Sports Week will take place from April 26th to May 1st, 2025, with a series of 8 diverse and rich activities, involving over 400 artisans, athletes, and amateur artists from communes and towns in the district. These include a cultural competition with 4 categories: Exhibition of cultural products; Traditional costume performance; Folk dance; and Culinary arts; and a sports competition with 4 disciplines: Stick pushing, Tug-of-war, Archery, and Spinning top. During the District's Ethnic Culture and Sports Week, people and tourists can enjoy the cultural melodies of various ethnic groups, the beautiful natural scenery of the district, participate in recreational and sports activities, savor local specialties, and learn about the customs of the ethnic groups in Dam Ha district.
The 2025 Dam Ha District Ethnic Culture and Sports Week is a deeply meaningful activity aimed at preserving and promoting the beautiful traditional cultural identity of ethnic communities. It also serves as an opportunity to strengthen solidarity, exchange ideas, learn from each other, and improve the spiritual life of the people in the district; and to introduce to tourists from within and outside the district the cultural traditions, people, and beautiful natural landscapes of Dam Ha district.
