Affirming Sa Dec as a sustainable tourist destination associated with green agriculture

The 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival aims to honor the Sa Dec flower and ornamental plant growing profession, promote the development of the flower and ornamental plant industry associated with the development of agricultural tourism; promote Sa Dec Flower Village to domestic and foreign tourists, contributing to building and enhancing the local image.

This is a provincial-level event with many cultural, artistic and tourism activities. The event has 20 main activities and 12 supporting activities. The opening ceremony takes place at 8:00 p.m. on December 27.

Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province Nguyen Thi Uyen Trang affirmed: The 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival is an important event not only for tourism but also directly linked to the socio -economic development goals of the province, in the context that Sa Dec has many opportunities to develop green economy and agricultural tourism.

This year's festival with the theme "Colors of Flowers of a New Day" carries the message: Sa Dec not only has tradition, but also has the desire for innovation and the ability to adapt to new development requirements.

The Organizing Committee also clearly identified three focuses of the Festival: Honoring the value of Flower Village - an important foundation for Sa Dec's economy; promoting the image of Dong Thap - Sa Dec effectively and substantially; mobilizing socialized resources in a transparent and sustainable manner.

The event will display 1,000 varieties of flowers and ornamental plants with the aim of promoting the Sa Dec Flower Village brand and honoring the biodiversity of the local ornamental flower industry.

At "Sa Dec Flower Space", the Organizing Committee will decorate flower landscapes, flower streets, and flower gates for visitors to visit and check-in.

In addition, “Ancient Sa Dec Space” recreates the space of the old Sa Dec market and the old Sa Dec flower market; connecting with Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House to create a highlight to attract tourists with the activity “A night telling a love story - Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House”.

At the Dream Space with the theme "Blooming Dreams - Growing in the New Era", the Organizing Committee built a space for creative, innovative, and digital transformation experiences associated with images of flowers and ornamental plants; organized an area to display and introduce creative ideas, startup models, and OCOP products applying new technology of Dong Thap youth.

The “Heritage Land” space will exhibit and perform the province’s national intangible cultural heritage. In particular, within the framework of the festival, from December 31 to January 4, hot air balloon activities will take place. Accordingly, the Organizing Committee will arrange hot air balloons to create a highlight at the flower space of Sa Dec Square, with the theme “Sa Dec - flying up with a myriad of flowers”…

At the press conference, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Thap province Le Ha Luan also announced the launch of "Voting for leading OCOP products of Dong Thap province in 2025".
