Mr. Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, has instructed relevant departments and agencies to review energy projects facing obstacles in order to find timely solutions and remove obstacles.
Regarding the project team currently preparing the pre-feasibility study report, Mr. Hoang requested the Department of Industry and Trade to urge the consulting unit to continue soliciting opinions from relevant departments and agencies; and the Department of Construction to guide localities on the application of issues related to planning.
For projects that have not yet prepared a pre-feasibility study report and whose investors have not submitted a project proposal, the Department of Industry and Trade needs to work with the consulting unit to review and categorize them in order to determine appropriate handling methods.
Mr. Hoang also urged local authorities to make efforts and expedite the implementation of related tasks so that the project can be launched soon, contributing to economic development.
According to a report from the Department of Industry and Trade, there are currently 72 completed and operational energy projects in the province with a total capacity of over 5,000 MW, contributing to ensuring the province's energy security.
In the Power Development Plan VIII and its revised version, for the period 2025-2030, Khanh Hoa province plans to develop more than 60 power generation projects with a total capacity of over 8,500 MW, including renewable energy, hydropower, LNG (liquefied natural gas), and energy storage projects.
Currently, the projects are being reviewed according to 8 progress groups to monitor and resolve obstacles. These include 3 projects that are operational or preparing for operation; 10 projects with approved investors; 1 project currently undergoing bidding; 2 projects with completed documentation awaiting appraisal; and 7 projects with basic land and construction procedures completed and documentation being finalized.
In addition, Khanh Hoa has 17 projects currently undergoing pre-feasibility studies; 4 projects facing significant obstacles; and 16 projects that have not yet attracted investor interest. Some projects are behind schedule mainly due to difficulties in allocating land use quotas after the administrative reorganization.
